Making a mess to clear the mess

As you can see, this site is only just being born. At the moment I have four rooms in my house that have been cleared while the plasterers and builders move in. We are finally having the very top attic insulated and floored so that all the junk that was taking over the house can be stored up there (can you see the plaster and lathe* walls that were done over 100 years ago? Many a visitor has been impressed by the workmanship)

*Thanks Kate!

The hatch is quite small because it had to be worked around the joists, but I will get all my junk up there, never fear.

We also have two attic rooms on a lower level. These were always dark, cold and creepy. We are also having them insulated, plastered and then I'm going to decorate them. I'm hoping this one is going to be a walk-in wardrobe.

And this one will be where I store all my gift-wrapping etc. along with the fold-away beds and anything else that needs to be close at hand.

I'm looking forward to posting my after shots. Please call in to see the progress, because many of you have inspired the work.

Blessings.

  3. I can't wait to see your finished project. We've lived in our home for almost 29 years and the attic is one place I've never been. My hubby has been up there but it's not very big, I guess, so I've never attempted to peak...lol. Good luck on your progress.
